We’re part of Baines & Ernst one of the leading providers of debt solutions in the UK
If you’re struggling with debt then we’re best placed to help you. We’re part of the award winning company, Baines & Ernst,
and have years of experience in helping people clear their debts with consolidation solutions such as Debt Management Plans, IVA’s and Protected Trust Deeds.
A Debt Management Plan is just one solution which could help you deal with debts if you’re struggling with repayments.
It allows you to consolidate your debts into one easier to manage, monthly repayment – so you can get back in control.
What we do:
- Lower monthly debt repayments
-
Based on what you can afford to pay, we’ll negotiate with your lenders and secure a single lower repayment rate for you.
- Request that interest and charges are frozen
-
We’ll request that interest and charges are stopped on your debts, so your debts will reduce over time (subject to lender agreement).
- Handle communication with your lenders
-
We deal with your debts and contact your lenders to make an initial payment and let them know we are working on your behalf – helping to take the pressure off you.
- Find the right solution to clear your debts
-
Whatever your situation, whatever your circumstances – we offer a full range of debt solutions to best suit you.
- Get you back in control
-
It’s simple, we’re here to work for you - we’ll take control and help you beat debt. Once on plan you’ll make one simple monthly payment to us and we’ll distribute payments to each of your lenders to help clear your debt for good.
What you need to know:
- Will interest and charges be frozen on a Debt Management Plan (DMP)?
-
Although lenders do not have to agree to freeze interest and charges, we’ve formed excellent relationships with the vast majority of UK lenders – that puts us in a strong position to negotiate a reduced repayment rate and freeze interest and charges on your debts. We’re pleased to say that in 88% of the debts we manage we do freeze interest and charges.
- Can I cancel a DMP after it begins?
-
A DMP is not a legally binding agreement; therefore you can cancel your plan at any time. If you choose to progress without the help of a professional debt management company, then you should expect lenders to resume their standard lines of communication which could mean that they increase their demands for repayments.
- Will my credit rating be affected if I enter a Debt Management Plan?
-
Your credit rating will be affected because you are paying your debts at a reduced repayment rate – not the contracted amount you had previously agreed to. Because you are making reduced payments it could take longer for your debts to be repaid and may increase the total amount owed.
- Will a Debt Management Plan deal with all my debts?
-
It covers your unsecured debts, such as credit cards, overdrafts, personal loans and catalogue debts. It won’t cover secured debts such as mortgages and car hire purchase agreements or priority debts including utility and council tax bills.
- How much does Debt Management cost?
-
We charge a fee for the professional service we offer to you.
If you choose to enter a Debt Management Plan there is an initial fee, which is the equivalent to your first 2 monthly payments. Whilst we negotiate with your lenders we will make a small token payment to them. The rest of the fee will be retained by us for setting up your plan, during this period you may fall behind (or further behind) on the debts covered in your Debt Management Plan. After you have paid the initial fee there is a monthly management fee which is included in your regular monthly payment.
